So first off, cheers to calling out Marc "zero-introspection" Andreesen. He deserves to be roasted.

Also, I agree with your broad thesis and quite frankly people like to be useful and work even if it's what Graeber describes as a BS job. These two things tie together because it's really that AI is a morality crisis dressed up as a potential jobs crisis. Instead of trying to cure cancer, the current culture in many board rooms is extractive, not additive. There was a reason that we were hopeful in 90s and not now. These gains by AI, if they were broadly shared, meaningfully made the Average Joe's life better, and were led by people who cared about people...the conversation would be completely different.

Naive question, but in the short term at least, why not do something like a negative income tax for wages?
